Letter Sent out to all Lodges

Dear Brethren
May I say what a privilage and honour it is to be elected Provincial Grand Primo for 2007.
To be your "chief officer" for the forthcoming year fills me with excitement and I'm thrilled to be fulfilling my ambition.
Holding the top office in your own province is the pinnacle of any buffs career and I'm looking forward to my term of office.
May I also take this opportunity to thank all those who have supported me throughout my buffs
career. There have been many brothers in the order who have given me their support, as well as their wisdom, their advice
and their hand of frendship and long may it continue. There's too many to mention here but i'd like to highlight just a few.
Bro J Johnstone ROH whom has been a loyal and trusted brother and good friend since I joined the order. Bro R Prue ROH, my
deputy for this year and also a very good friend, along with his wife Adele. The brethren of the C.V.Smith Lodge whose brothers
continue to support me and whose freindship I continue to savour. Also, very importantly , there's my wife Karen, who has
always been a rock of support with my works within the order and allows me (if that's the right word brethren) the time to
commit to the buffs. My deepest gratitude and thanks to you all.
My Charity for the year is ADD-UP (attention deficit disorders-Uniting parents). They are based
in Hornchurch offering activities and support to children with ADHD(attention deficiency and hyperactivity disorder) and children
with Autism. Throughout the year I will be running a few "charity nights", be they quizzes, race nights etc; in aid of this
charity and would ask if brethren throughout the province would give me their support for this worthwhile cause.
Also my year in office I hope to hold a "PGP Dinner & Dance Night'. It's been a while since
we've organised a night like this and although I appreciate numbers of brothers in the province are dropping, but I feel it
important to hold functions where we are able to meet together for a good night out, with our good ladies, like we once used
too. That dosn't mean children are excluded either this year, I intend to hold a family day in the summer and all being well
a Christmas party at the end of the year. I do have a few other ideas for events throughout the year and if and when they
happen I will notify you brethren.
Finally brethren, without participation from you, all the ideas and events in the world won't
work. Last year was a tough year as we're all aware of and I hope along with PGL and my officers to bring some stability and
harmony back into the province this year. It's been said to me often that the buffs is losing sight of families and children
in the province as well as not holding any functions where we can inject some fun and enthusiasm. Well, with some help from
some very good friends, my officers for 2007 and any ideas from me or you, maybe we can have some fun this year and meet brethren/people
other than in our own lodges. I look forward to seeing you all sometime throughout the year.
